South Bruce Grey Health Centre’s Co-op Program offers a unique, well rounded approach in which students and staff members work together to ensure all participants gain maximum benefit from the program. Students have the opportunity to:
- Experience hands-on learning
- “Test-drive” career options
- Apply their classroom learning
- Develop essential skills and habits that are required in the workplace
- Gain valuable work experience to help build a resumé for post secondary programs as well as future employment
Rotation options include:
- Administration Rotation: Health Records, Human Resources, Registration, Volunteer Services and Finance
- Allied Health Rotation: Diagnostic Imaging, Laboratory, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy and Respiratory Therapy
- Facilities Rotation: Electrical, General Maintenance and Plumbing
- Nursing Rotation: ER, Patient Care (when available) and Med/Surg
Requirements:
- Completion of grade 11 required
- Administration Rotation: computer skills, good interpersonal skills and communication skills
- Allied Health Rotation: Biology, Physics, Chemistry and Math
- Facilities Rotation: Interest in the area
- Nursing Rotation: Biology and Chemistry
